This morning we are delighted to take you on ‘The Journey To Bethlehem’. It is full of intrigue, desperation, hope and fabulous animal and angel costumes. The journey to Bethlehem, wouldn’t have been an easy one for Mary and Joseph. It can be imagined that it was a tough time, especially with Mary being fully pregnant with Jesus and ready to give birth. And no accommodation in Bethlehem when they arrive. Yet still, they pressed on and persevered. And in a stable full of animal shenanigans (the smell, the noise, the smell), Mary gives birth to our Saviour Jesus and places him in a water trough. Fancy that, the Prince of Peace born in that environment. Not what we were expecting, was it? And that is what makes the birth of Jesus so beautiful, humbling and outrageous. That He, Jesus the Christ, is accessible to every person, that none should miss out on the gift of having salvation, knowing hope and being filled with a love that never fails. We hope you enjoy our telling of the Hope of Christmas.
Honestly. The generousity of people in our community is enough to blow one’s mind. Then there is the immense gratitude, disbelief, tears and overwhelming feelings that families experience when faced with that generousity. 160 families have been adopted by people, businesses and community groups throughout the Wellington region. Their kindness is truly staggering and we are grateful, humbled and so very happy to be the ones with the privilege of passing these parcels on. So here are some photos with a promise of a bountiful Christmas for our adopted families. And yes we have had a very busy couple of weeks. Gifts from Sponsors for Families!
