Content of the Diploma Soccer coaching • 4 hours of practical, soccer-specific on-field instruction The Next Generation Youth Coaching and Leadership Diploma is the first of its kind in the United States, dedicated to help develop future generations of American soccer coaches, while offering a unique opportunity to further develop and strengthen their leadership skills. The content of the diploma has been designed by some of the nation’s most respected scholars and professionals in various fields of expertise. The Diploma is specifically designed for current high school student athletes or students wishing to gain skills and insight into the world of coaching and leadership. Participants will have either been nominated by their youth soccer clubs or high schools.

• Receive a nationally recognized 4 v 4 coaching diploma through the NSCAA • Qualifies the student for volunteer or part-time paid coaching employment Leadership training - 6 workshops covering a variety of topics both on and off the field to include: Introduction to Leadership Qualities

Overview of the Diploma • 12-hour course including practical projects, and a variety of interactive workshops related to soccer and leadership • Requires community involvement to complete diploma. • Opportunities to participate in invite-only webinars throughout the school year. • Earn a nationally recognized coaching qualification • Exposure to a larger network of colleges and admissions offices

Peer to Peer study groups Students will be assigned “project” groups and given certain themes/topics from the course content to create and deliver a presentation to their peers. This part of the course is particularly designed to help develop project management, time management and public speaking skills.

Post course requirements A minimum of 10 hours community service in soccer coaching, leadership experience or combination of both is required to earn the diploma. Student athletes can earn additional awards by giving more back to their community.

Examples of where students are earning required hours Local soccer clubs, TOPSoccer, middle school soccer programs, elementary soccer programs, local businesses, and more.
