We’re a nation where cricket is always on the mind and in the heart of every one of a billion fans, each with a devotion to Team India fuelled by pride in its successes. In 1983, the national team won the World Championship at the ‘home of cricket’ in London. In 2007 the team again grabbed victory and four years later a phenomenal win was once again India’s, this time on home ground. Now, Nike celebrates these three great victories: Team India will take to the pitch with its game-day jersey emblazoned with three golden stars arrayed in an arc above the BCCI crest. Each star is a symbol of their World Championship achievements, each a focus for player pride. Inspired by the three iconic stars, Nike introduces a premium collection for Holiday 2011 that captures the pride and the spirit of Team India’s World Championship wins: the Team India Black Pack. Ultra-exclusive, only 300 of each product are available and for one season only. The collection includes

Before, during and after the game, he’s always on. For him, ‘downtime’ doesn’t mean idling. Away from the pitch, he pours his energies into writing poetry and studying for his Masters in sports psychology. “The important thing I have learnt is that you need to have persistence.” Preparing for his run-up, he’s aware that the eyes of the nation are on him, “so my confidence has to be always on.”
