1. Disassembly a. Remove OE retainer and set aside for reuse.

b. Remove and discard OE spring and cooler bypass valve.
NOTE: Sonnax “F-Tool” kits designed to service a specific bore require the VB-FIX, a self-aligning valve body reaming fixture. More information and instructions can be found online at www.sonnax.com.
2. Bore Reaming Ream cooler bypass valve bore (for reaming instructions/reamer care, please visit www.sonnax.com). Sonnax reaming tool kit F-63741-TL7 and VB-FIX are required for this operation. 3. Installation & Assembly a. Ensure all debris has been removed from valve bore and body.

b. Install Sonnax oversized cooler bypass valve into bore, with open end facing outboard. c. Install Sonnax spring into valve spring pocket. d. Carefully compress spring far enough to reinstall OE retainer.
NOTE: Some RE5R05A valve bodies do not contain a cooler bypass valve. Units can be identified by empty cooler bypass bore (Figure 1), separator plate code (Chart) and blocked separator plate holes (Figure 2). Do not install Sonnax product into units that do not require cooler bypass valve. Figure 1

4. Final Testing Vacuum testing at the port(s) indicated holds the recommended minimum 18 in-Hg (Figure 3). 20
