NORTHEAST HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETIC BOOSTERS 1121 Duvall Highway, Pasadena Maryland 21122 Soar Like An Eagle Athletic Scholarship A scholarship of $500.00 will be awarded to one (1) senior female athlete and one (1) senior male athlete in the spring of their graduating year. This scholarship is intended to recognize the student athlete who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, dedication and sportsmanship while being a member of his/her team combined with contributions and participation with their time in giving back in volunteering to the community. Additionally, the recipient will also demonstrate solid scholastic performance while a student at Northeast Senior High School. Applicant Qualifications: Applicant's parent(s) must be member of the Athletic Boosters Member of a Varsity sports team at Northeast for at least (2) full seasons. Graduation senior who is planning to continue their education at an institution of higher learning Minimum GPA 2.5 must provide HS Transcript At least one written recommendation from a coach, teacher or community leader focusing on: Strong leadership qualities Serious work ethic Team Sprit Positive Attitude Exceptional sportsmanship Community service via volunteerism Extracurricular employment This scholarship will be administered and annually funded by the Northeast Athletic Boosters organization and will be awarded to students who will be pursuing their higher education. Applications for the Soar Like an Eagle Athletic Scholarship should be completed and forwarded to Mrs. Tracy Hartzell, President, NEHS Athletic Boosters, no later than May 13, 2015 and mail to: Northeast Athletic Boosters c/o Northeast High School 1121 Duval Highway, Pasadena, MD 21122. No consideration will be given to those submission after the due date.
Applications will be reviewed by the Northeast Athletic Boosters and the Athletic Director (Kenny Miller). We will select the top two male and female candidates and cast votes to determine recipients. The award winners will be announced at the Senior Awards Banquet.
