Things to Know *Before you Begin* All Quantities and cuts are based on 44/45”-wide, 100% cotton fabrics. All measurements include a 1/4” seam allowance, unless stated differently in the directions. WOF stands for Width of Fabric. Sew with right sides together unless otherwise stated. Read through the instructions before beginning your project. All directions have been tested and are presented in good faith, but no warranty can be given nor results guaranteed. We truly hope you have fun with your project!

Cutting Directions 



From Background fabric cut: - (8) 2-1/2”x2-1/2”Squares (A) - (4) 2-7/8”x2-7/8” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to make (4) Half Square Triangles. (B) - (1) 5-1/4”x5-1/4” Square. Subcut in half diagonally twice to make (4) Quarter Square Triangles. (C) From Green fabric cut: - (1) 5-1/4”x5-1/4” Square. Subcut in half diagonally twice to make (4) Quarter Square Triangles. (D)



 

From Orange fabric cut: - (4) 2-7/8”x2-7/8” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally once to make (8) Half Square Triangles. (E) From Blue fabric cut: - (1) 4-1/2”x4-1/2” Square (F) From Purple fabric cut: - (2) 5-1/4”x5-1/4” Squares. Subcut in half diagonally twice to make a total of (8) Quarter Square Triangles (G)

Quarter Square Triangles. 

Layout (2) Purple “G” Triangles, (1) Green “D” Triangle, and (1) Background (C) Triangle as shown.



Sew (1) “G” Triangle to (1) “D” Triangle along the short side. Press towards the Purple.



Sew (1) “G” Triangle to (1) “C” Triangle along the short side. Press towards the Purple.



Sew the (2) pieced Triangles together along the long side. Press Towards the Purple/Green Triangle. Block should measure 4-1/2”x4-1/2” Square.

4-Patch Units 

Layout (1) Orange “E” Triangle and (1) Background “B” Triangle as shown.



Sew (1) “E” Triangle to (1) “B” Triangle. Press towards the Orange Triangle. Block should measure 2-1/2”x2-1/2” Square



Repeat Previous (3) steps to make a total of (8) Half Square triangle Blocks.



Layout (2) Half square triangle blocks and (2) Background “A” Blocks as shown.



Sew blocks into rows. Press towards the background square.



Sew rows together. Press either direction. Block should measure 4-1/2”x4-1/2” Square.

Assembling the Block 

Layout (4) 4-Patch Units, (4) Quarter Square Triangle Units, and (1) Blue “F” Square.

Sew blocks into rows. Press in the direction of the arrows.
