Located in northern San Diego County, the community of Valley Center has a vision for the development of a new mixed use “town center.” Working with local residents and land owners, SWA developed a plan that establishes a strong urban design framework, while allowing for a diversity of uses and architectural styles, thereby creating the impression that the town center has grown over time. Commercial, residential and public uses form the core of the town center, while surrounding lower densities residential focus on the creation of individual neighborhoods, each focused on a generous open space system.
