Noteables: Small Composition Books Kimberbell Noteables are composition book covers that turn ordinary writing paper into a noteworthy journal. Each cover is fully lined and reusable. The small size features embroidered affirmations of: “Wishes, Enjoy the Journey, Love Notes, and Bucket List.” Fabric makes the notebook durable enough for a hiking adventure or a pretty travel daybook, just the right size for purse or pack. Cutting Instructions:
Materials Needed: HOOP: 5 x 7 hoop (Embroidery Field Needed: 7.00 x 4.96”)
FABRIC 1: Cut (2) 8 x 6” (book cover and lining) Cut (2) 4 x 6” (side pocket pieces)
STABILIZER: Cut-Away Stabilizer FABRIC: Fabric 1: (Main Fabric)
Prepare the Following: 1 Fat Eighth
Press the two 4 x 6” pocket pieces, wrong sides together, to measure 2 x 6”.
OTHER: • (1) 12’’ length ribbon ⅜” wide • Mini Composition Book (3¼ x 4½”) • Kimberbell® Paper Tape A Fat eighth is 9 x 21’’
Embroider the Following:
1.
Hoop stabilizer only in the appropriate size hoop.

2.
Stitch the first step directly onto the stabilizer: the placement line.
NOTE: Depending on your hoop, the file may switch in a vertical position rather than a horizontal position.

Stitch the next step: the tack-down line. Remove tape.

Place the book cover fabric piece on top of the line stitched, right side up, completely covering the box. Use paper tape at the corner to keep fabric in place, if needed.

Follow the appropriate chart to complete the design on your specific Noteable. Pay close attention to the color chart and its instructions.

Place a piece of ribbon about ½” above the book outline, centered on the line, right side down. Tape above the stitched box to hold in place.

Note: Tuck the ribbon into the side pocket, so it will not be sewn into the seam.

Place the lining piece of fabric on top of the design, right side down, covering the entire stitched area.

Stitch the final step: the finishing stitch, which will leave an opening in the side to turn right side out.

Trim book cover approximately ¼” beyond the seam line and clip corners to reduce bulk.

Turn right side out, through the opening in the side. Stitch opening closed.

Flip the side pockets towards the lining. Press with steam for a finished look.
Place composition book front and back covers inside of each of the side pockets. Trim ribbon to desired length. Heat seal or use Fray Check ™ on the end of ribbon to prevent fraying.
