NOTICE AND ACKNOWLEGEMENT: RECYCLING AND SOLID WASTE REQUIREMENTS OF THE CITY OF MAYWOOD To:

Applicants for Building, Excavation, and Demolition Permits

1. Recycling Requirement: Every person who receives a Building Excavation or Demolition Permit in the City of Maywood is required to recycle construction and demolition waste (including scrap lumber, dirt, drywall, etc.) generated by the project to the maximum extent practicable. If you lack experience in recycling of construction and demolition waste, you may comply with this requirement by contracting with one of the Cities franchised solid waste haulers, listed below, for the removal and recycling of construction and demolition waste. 2. Use of Franchised Solid Waste Hauler is Required: In order to protect public health and safety and to comply with state laws requiring diversion of solid waste from land filling, every person in charge of day-to-day operations of every premise I the City of Maywood may use only a solid waste hauler, which meets rigorous public health and safety, recycling, insurance, and other requirements set by the City. This requirement includes every person who applies for Building, Excavation or Demolition Permit. The only solid waste hauler currently authorized by the City to collect construction and demolition waste in the City is: Consolidated Disposal Waste Recycling: (562)663-3400 or (800)299-4898 3. General recycling information can be obtained by visiting the California Integrated Waste Management Board Construction and Demolition website at http://www.calrecycle.ca.gov/condemo/ 4. Acknowledgement by Permit Applicant’s Initials and Signature. I understand the every applicant for building, demolition, or site development permits shall divert minimum of 50% of all construction and demolition waste, or be subject to a fine, and is also responsible for the actions of their subcontractors with regard to this diversion requirement. I further understand that the person I charge of the premises (including agents and others acting on that person’s behalf) may not use any solid waste hauler except one which meets rigorous public health and safety recycling, insurance and other requirements set by the City, and that the currently-approved solid waste hauler is Consolidated Disposal.
