NOTICE OF STREET CLOSURE ST. PATRICK’S DAY 5K RUN / WALK Sunday, March 16th, 2014 Dear Redondo Beach Resident, Business Owner or Employee: The City has issued a permit for the Village Runner St. Patrick’s Day 5K Run / Walk to be held on Sunday, March 16, 2014. The 5K Run / Walk course will: 1) Start on Catalina Avenue and Vista Del Mar. Runners/walkers proceed north on Catalina Avenue; 2) Turn west on Avenue E. 3) Turn south on Esplanade; 4) Make a U-turn at Esplanade and Vista Del Mar; 5) Proceed north on Esplanade to Knob Hill; 6) Turn east on Knob Hill to a U-turn at Elvira Street; 7) Proceed west on Knob Hill Avenue to Esplanade; 8) Turn south on Esplanade to Avenue E; 9) Turn east on Avenue E to Catalina Ave. 10) Proceed south on Catalina Ave to the finish at Catalina Ave/Vista Del Mar. Catalina Avenue between Elena and Avenue I will be closed off at 4 A.M. Sunday morning. The remainder of the 5K route will be closed at 7 A.M. The streets should be reopened at 9:00 A.M. Catalina Avenue between Avenue I and Elena will remain closed to allow for kid’s related events and the awards ceremony. This segment of Catalina Avenue will be reopened by 11:00 A.M. Signs stating “Tow Away/Temporary No Parking” during the time of the event will be posted 3 days in advance of the event along the west side of Esplanade, on Avenue I, Catalina Avenue south of Avenue I and the 100 block of Avenue E. Travel in/out of the immediate neighborhood may be delayed. It is highly recommended if you do need to drive out of/into the neighborhood on Sunday morning between 7 and 9 A.M. that you do not park your vehicle on one of the above listed street segments. Otherwise, please plan on leaving or entering your residence by vehicle before 7 A.M. or after 9 A.M.
