LEGO CLUB
Get your brain warmed up for Friday classes by joining the CCS Lego Club! The CCS Lego Club will begin Friday, January 6 at 7:30am (Room TBD). We will meet every Friday morning until the end of the school year. The club will not be held on days when students do not have classes. We have four slots available for 7th and 8th grade students interested in the Mindstorm robotics kits. These kits introduce the basics of programming robots to perform various functions and troubleshooting those programs when they do not perform as intended. Due to the nature of the lesson plan, please sign up only if you can commit to bringing your student every week. We have eight slots available for 4th thru 6th grade students using LEGO “Simple & Powered Machines” kits. Using these kits, students will learn the basic mechanical principles behind simple machines, and increase their understanding by adding complex mechanisms like gears, cams, and motors. Note: “Simple & Powered Machines” will be using the same lesson plan as last year. We also have eight slots available for K thru 3rd grade students. These students will build kits following instructions, as well as work together on larger, more complex models. These students will also have time for “free building” when they can exercise their creativity. All slots will be held on a first-come, first -served basis. To sign up your student, please send an email to Ken Wozniak (
[email protected]) with parent name, student name, grade, and telephone number. Parents are welcome to stay and participate with their child. Best regards, Ken Wozniak
