Dear Parent/Guardian, Each year as school closes and summer vacation begins for our students, we provide our families with opportunities to ensure that students keep both their literacy and mathematical skills sharp. This year again, in our efforts to make the summer review more engaging, we have opted to use our on-line math program called, Think Central. Using Think Central, students will be provided with access to features such as: View Examples, Step by Step, and Check Answer. These features offer scaffolding to ensure success for all students. It is our goal to make certain all students maintain the strong foundations in math they have built throughout the year. Your child has been introduced to this program in school, and is familiar with it. Each student will use their current username and password to access their summer math practice from home. Students will be expected to complete all assignments by August 18, 2016. This will allow your child’s teacher to have immediate access to the problems completed, along with a better understanding of your child’s strengths as well as those skills in need of further remediation. For any students who do not have access to the internet, the Auburn Public Library is open Monday thru Thursday 9:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m., Friday 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturday 9:00 a.m.1:00 p.m. Internet is accessible for all with a library card. If you anticipate that you will not be able to access the internet at any time throughout the summer, please speak to your child’s principal.
