Christmas Art & Nativity Festival
November 21, 2017 Pentecost th
Sunday, November 26 is the Sunday before Advent. As we conclude our “Season Thanksgiving,” we are also preparing our hearts and minds to enter Advent with hearts of gratitude. This Sunday is our annual “Christmas Art & Nativity Festival. If you can, please bring a nativity set from home to share with others, this Sunday morning. Since we will be worshiping in the Fellowship Hall due to the sanctuary painting, we have plenty of room to display them. The church’s various nativity sets will be on display. We are fortunate, as a congregation, to have several from the collection of William and Vida Miller. We will also be displaying various Christmas Art items, including Harriett Nix’s “Modern Madonna.” The idea of having nativity sets in our homes is almost 1000 years old. Bring your nativity set(s) on Sunday morning. As part of worship, we will have a time of “Blessing of the Nativities.” Please plan to come and share and enjoy the “Christmas Art & Nativity Festival” during the fellowship time following worship.
