A message from the Board Leprechaun Days and Registration is upon us….And An Updated Website Too!!! The heart of summer is here and for RAHA that means Leprechaun Days and Registration. We kick-off the fun this Saturday with our Annual Street Hockey Tourney. Stop out and see some of the extra stuff in addition to hockey going on (see page 6). The RAHA Booster will once again be sponsoring our annual Leprechaun Days float on Saturday, July 29th and all skaters are invited to march (See page 3) The 2017-18 Season and Clinic Registration will open on Saturday, July 29th. More information on costs are in this issue. If you haven’t been to the website lately….drop by and take a look as we experienced a make-over. A Big Rule Change by USA Hockey to eliminate icing the puck during penalties (see page 5) USA Hockey is also discontinuing the annoying consent to treat forms. Rosemount Youth Hockey Boosters Leprechaun Day’s Parade Love Irish Hockey? Here is a chance to show your love of the game – Walk along the float in this year’s Leprechaun Day’s Parade. This is open to ALL skaters within RAHA, the fun starts on Saturday, July 29 at 11:00am. No pre-registration is needed!! Watch for an eBlast the week of the parade, this will provide you with all the details needed for the event. When dropping off you skaters, check in with one of the Boosters, we will ask for a contact number in case we need to reach you. Or if you prefer you can walk along with the float. Also, remember our float will probably be done before the parade, so you may need to pick up your kids before the parade concludes. Parade T-shirts purchased online may be picked up at the Swag Shop in Rosemount on Friday, July 28 from 1 to 7 pm. You may also purchase shirts on Saturday, July 29 at 10am at the Parade gathering site in the Baptist Church parking lot on Diamond Path.

Get Involved with the Boosters If you are interested in getting involved with the Rosemount Youth Hockey Boosters, please contact any member to learn more or join us at our next meeting. Group meets the 2nd Tuesday of every month. Next Meeting is Tuesday, August 8th at 7:45 PM in Room 212 at RCC.

News - First Year Girls Free and Irish Clinics

Irish Clinic Registration Our player development committee is excited to once again bring you our Irish Skating and Goalie Clinics which will get your son or daughter some extra ice to get them ready for the upcoming season. While getting the rust off and preparing for Try-outs our focus will mainly be on skating and stick handling skills to get kids as ready as possible for the upcoming tryouts. Updates on dates and instructors will be posted on the RAHA website when registration opens. We look forward to seeing you at the IRISH CLINIC!

News - Season Registration and USA Hockey Rule Change New USA Hockey Rule - No More Icing When Short-Handed USA Hockey has modified its playing rules for the 14-and-Under age classification and all younger age classifications (youth and girls) to no longer legalize icing while a team is shorthanded. Beginning with the 2017-18 season, if a team ices the puck while shorthanded, it will result in a whistle followed by a defensive-zone faceoff. For more info on the rule change, see the RAHA homepage news.

Registration Opens Saturday, July 29 Registration for the 2017 Clinics and Regular Season will open up on the RAHA website on Saturday, July 29th. As in previous years, each player must first be registered with USA Hockey ($50) at www.usahockey.com before beginning the online registration process for RAHA. Pull Tab Credit? Every RAHA player is having their registration fee reduced by $75 using proceeds from Pull tab operations at Carbone’s! This amounts to over $50,000 that RAHA families will save this season.

Street Hockey This Saturday RAHA is kicking off Leprechaun Days this Saturday with their Annual Street Hockey Tournament at the Rosemount High School parking lot (9am-2pm). Even if you don't have a son or daughter participating, their is still plenty of action for you to stop by and checkout. Dr. Jennifer will be doing free onsite mouth guard fittings The Irshettes will be selling food and drinks to keep you happy Thistles and Shamrocks - Come check out the latest designs from Solita Tullo Ganser's Goodies - Stephanie will have all sorts of treats onsite to handle any sweet tooth cravings

Not only is this a fun event for the kids, it's a great way to support some of our local organizations! Squirt/Peewee age group start around 9am with the Mite/Mini-Mite age group starting around Noon.

Request for Bids coming for Jerseys and Socks RAHA is implementing a new request for bid process for large ticket items like Jerseys and Socks. The bidding process will be posted on the RAHA Homepage in the next week or two. If you are involved with a company who may be interested in providing jerseys and socks to RAHA, feel free to contact our equipment coordinator Juno Nayagam on the RAHA Board tab or watch the RAHA homepage for an announcement coming soon.

News Calling All RAHA Coaching Candidates The RAHA Coaches application registration is now open for all teams from Bantam AA down to Termites. Anyone interested in being a HEAD or ASSISTANT coach for the upcoming season should fill out an application on the RAHA Homepage.

Uniform Policy Expands to Squirt/10U: (Not Applicable to Goalies) RAHA has a “NAVY” uniform policy for all non-goalie Traveling Level Skaters. This policy applies to all Bantam, Peewee, Squirt, 15U, 12U and 10U skaters. A second trim color will be acceptable on the equipment below, but NAVY should be the dominant color when making your equipment selection.
