Composit sample=20-40acres uniform land

Composit sample=20-40acres uniform land

Manure is sampled after the bin is emptied

EQUIP 590: Enhanced nutrient with manure

EQUIP 590: Enhanced nutrient without manure

Meet the Basic nutrient with manure requirements

Meet the Basic nutrient without manure requirements Nitrogen monitoring techniques (Nitrogen rate test strips, pre-season nitrate testing, chlorophyll readers)

Nitrogen monitoring techniques (Nitrogen rate test strips, pre-season nitrate 1st year: Grid sample for Ptesting, and K chlorophyll readers) 2nd year: Management zones and creating yield maps that correspond to the management zones 3rd year: Use GPS to variable rate apply P and K

1st year: Grid sample for P and K 2nd year: Management zones and creating yield maps that correspond to the management zones

Do not apply manure if STP >50 Bray 1 or >35 Olson

AIR 08 Use of urease or nitrification inhibitor (dependent on fertilizer used)

3rd year: Use GPS to variable rate apply P and LimitKsingle year commercial phosphorus

Follow manufacturer recommendations

application to 23lbs when STP >30 Bray 1 or 20 Olson

Nutrient application must be within Land Grant University recommendations Methods of application of inhibitors does not increase soil surface disturbance. Nitrogen application occurs within 30 days of planting Materials are acceptable to the AAPFCO Materials are acceptable to the State fertilizer control officials or equivalent authority

WQL 04 Current year testing

WQL 11 Variable rate technologies for nutrient application

Must have a soil test that is less than 3 years old Nutrient application rates are within Land Grant University recommendations

Management Zone soil sample P and K soil tests can be no older than 3 years old

Follow guidelines set by the lab and Land Grant University for interpretation and adjustment of application rates

Use yield monitoring data and soil data to create defined management zones

One or more of the following:

Yield monitoring systems

Land Grant University that provides tissue analyses

Combine mounted sensor

State recognizes private commercial lab analyses

Volume meters

Chlorophyll tissue testing is accepted

Create yield maps

Infrared imagery technology is accepted

Other suitable technology Application rates can not exceed the Land Grant University recommendations

Following year testing 8" sample of the corn stalk after black layer formation Follow Land Grant University guidelines for this test

WQL 24 Enhanced efficiency fertilizers, as defined by the AAPFCO and accepted by the State fertilizer control official or similar authority Use one or more nitrogen or phosphorus fertilizer products defined as enhanced efficiency fertilizers, recommended by the state Land Grant University (LGU) and agreed with by the NRCS on all treated acres to supply half of the LGU recommended fertilizer Apply nutrients according to the LGU recommendations Keep soil disturbance to a minimun while applying fertilizer.
