To create an atmosphere and environment for ALL players to be successful as people as well as athletes. Your involvement in our program will not only make a better player but overall better person. To provide academic support for each one of our players so they reach the goal of graduating with a diploma. To help each player reach their full athletic potential and to have the opportunity to win a state championship. To help each player launch their career so that if they have a goal to reach the next level, we can prepare them for it.

A football coaching staff is a special brotherhood of individuals that rival any professional organization. Because of the nature of the job, it is important that the head coach and his assistants share common values and traits as they relate to leading young men. 1). Genuine Care and Concern for Young People 2). Loyalty 3). Character 4). Organization and Hard Work 5). Technical Knowledge
¨
¨
¨
The coaches are here to help you perform to the best of your ability both on and off the football field. We will work with ALL players and coach you for the next play. We will be positive but we will confront you and demand that you do things correctly both on and off the football field. Coaches will be accountable for their actions and responsibilities. ALL coaches will adhere to protocol and if there is an issue with a player, both parties will meet with the coach involved, the coordinator on that side of the ball and the Head coach.
¨
We must develop attitude, work ethic, confidence, self-esteem
¨
Solve problems, don’t create them!!!
¨
¨
¨
It is the coaches’ responsibility to prepare your unit and have them to play within the system. We must preach to our athletes that no matter the obstacle, we believe we can and prepare for everything!! Teaching and drill progression- organized and precise, specific in presentation. “The harder you work, the harder it is to surrender.”- Vince Lombardi

A North Springs Spartan first must be sound off the football field before even stepping on it! He must meet all the academic requirements of the school and team. (Grade Reports currently being pulled for Spring!) Spartans will attend class daily and represent our F.A.M.I.L.Y as a positive role model both on and off the football field. A Spartan will respect EVERYONE in the school as well as our surrounding community. We will play an integral part in our community and roles as positive mentors to our youth. A UNIT must have discipline to do its job consistently and effectively. Know what to do, how to do it and WHY it is important to do it that way.

Competition: ¡
Competition is the foundation on which our program is built. It is the reason we keep score and the word “Champion” is in our vocabulary. Every day we strive to be the best and that starts in the weight room and on the practice field. In large programs such as ours, everyone wants the opportunity to contribute. Playing time is at a premium. ALL players must compete for an opportunity to contribute on game nights. No one is ENTITLED to playing time! Regardless of how long a player has been in our program, you must compete.
Respect:
A COACH’S JOB IS TO
GET EVERYTHING HE CAN OUT OF HIS PLAYERS. PLAYERS WILL BE MENTALLY AND PHYSICALLY PUSHED IN AN EFFORT TO HAVE EVERY PLAYER REACH HIS FULL POTENTIAL. DO NOT TAKE OFFENSE AT CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM. LEARN FROM IT AND GET IT RIGHT NEXT TIME. DO NOT EVER TALK BACK TO ANY COACH ON THE PRACTICE FIELD OR DURING A GAME. ANY ACTION OF THIS KIND WILL RESULT IN SEVERE DISCIPLINARY ACTION NOT EXCLUDING DISMISSAL FROM THE SPARTAN FOOTBALL TEAM
CONDUCT: DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY, STEALING, BULLYING
Player Handbook: Familiarize!! ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨ ¨

We are looking to increase size, strength, flexibility, power, nutrition knowledge and your mental work ethic. Our program is based on technique and details of lifts in order to DO IT THE RIGHT WAY! Every level of sports (little league, middle school, high school, college, pro) requires different types of training based on a team / player’s physical and mental level. We will train at your body’s level.
Important notes we tell our athletes: ¨ We are high school athletes and not college or pro level. How higher athletes train, is because they have advanced from the level YOU are at! ¨ Do not worry about how much you lift, but HOW YOU LIFT IT! We will perfect technique before any weight will be added to your sheet. ¨ Benching or squatting the house will not make you a star football player. But it does help! ¨ You MUST EAT THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FOODS in order for your body to produce results. Lifting is the easy part, eating right is how your body grows
We will focus on 4 main lifts: 1). Power Clean/Hang Clean 2). Squat 3). Bench 4). Deadlift ¨ Each day will be based around one of these lifts. However, a lot of attention will be spent on building and strengthening the back and hamstrings. Our reps and sets will depend on the season and the week in that season.
Speed and Agility: What we do: ¨ Learn the technique of changing direction and sprinting ¨ The same simple drills over and over again ¨ TEACH you how to move in order to use all your power you gained from the weight room ¨ Everything is position based. I don’t teach offensive lineman how to run receiver routes or vice versa!! ¨

Signing Day- 2/4/2015: If you ever wonder or your family and friends ever ask, why you coach, I hope this adds clarity. Every parents dream is to provide a better life for their kids than themselves. A life of Health, Happiness and Victory at every level. I have the same wish for my children, Austin being one of them. Over the 18 years we've been father and son, today is his greatest day! Today I watched him carry himself with the highest level of pride and accomplishment I've ever witnessed. It's impossible to explain to many others what went into today to make it so special, but you understand. You know the hard work, sacrifice, pain, frustration, exhaustion (among other things) that go into winning. You, and the young men you lead, charge forward while others watch, lead while others follow, and understand that life is about winning. This isn't to be confused with "winning at all cost," which connotes illegal, unethical, or immoral acts. This is winning because you are driven to a higher purpose, calling, and self expectation. I fully recognize that Austin was at today's events because of his hard work, but you need to also know that my son is a better man because of you! I am extremely grateful.
God, Family, Coaches.... a blessed trinity. Thank you for everything. ¨
