It is importantto groundthe wiringproperly. The groundwire shouldrunfromthe plugand attachto tow vehicle'sframe. Hitches, coupler/ball, safetychainsand loadlevelingequalizerbarswill NOT providean adequate groundandmayresultin electrical continuous systemfailure.ln addition, anyhotlineor auxiliary lineshouldbe runwithan in-linefuse. lf an auxiliarybatteryis addedto the trailer, theremustbe a fuse installedbetweenthe batteryandthe load. Titanrecommends that a separatefusedlinebe runfromthe tow vehicle'sbatterythrougha 20Ampin-linefuse,to an aftermarket toggle switchmountedon the dash. Thisswitchshouldhavea 20 Amp capacity.Wiringshouldbe runfromtheswitchto the#3 postfor runninglights.Newervehicles'wiring andheadlight switches are many timesmarginalanddo not havethe capacityto carrythe current required for largertrailerswithlotsof runninglights.lf yourtowvehicle has amberturn signals, see your hitch& wiringspecialist for installation of a relayor "splitter"to operateyour trailerturn signals and brakelights.
