Obama’s ‘jobs deficit’ swells to 4.2 million President Obama said his economic “stimulus” could create 3.5 million jobs by the end of 2010, putting total U.S. employment at 138.6 million. Compared with the president’s promised growth, his “jobs deficit” continues to deepen— falling short in June by 4.2 million jobs. It’ll take 6.9 million jobs over 18 months to close the gap.
