Thread Painting Helene Knott This is a good introduction to the technique on a small easy to complete project. There is a choice of two projects-a butterfly that is easier and a very good beginning level project for novice or “hesitant” quilters and a bird in a more ‘painterly’ approach suitable for the more confident, adventurous or accomplished quilter. Familiarity with free motionmotion stitching recommended

FRIDAY CLASSES Lakeshore Snowfall Ardis Weir This beautiful 62” Octagon can be a table topper, Christmas tree skirt or a wall hanging. this is an easy one to sew. Paper piecing can be very relaxing! This is a two day class.

Migrating Geese Helene Knott

Study Hall We will have an area set aside for anyone who wants to work independently. We’ve had a good response to this option! Our space will be limited again this year because they have removed the Midship Building. Please bring your own lights and cords for study hall space.

This is an easy paper pieced project; students will learn how to draft their own sweeping bands of geese to grace a small quilt or table runner or they can opt to make a small wall hanging from a pattern in a handout. Once learned, this easy design and technique can be added to any quilt and the ‘geese’ can be a marvelous way to use charm squares and scraps left from other projects.

Easy Cathedral Window Victoria Jones

Saturday Evening Show & Tell Please bring your quilts, wall hangings or other related projects to share with your fellow campers. We would also like to have a few to hand around the classroom for all to enjoy. We will also do a Class Project Show and Tell at this time. This will give you more time at your sewing machines to complete your class projects!

This traditional block has been given an update and is stitched by machine rather than the usual hand stitching. A Charm Pack with at least 32 squares plus 32 squares of a coordinating/ contrasting fabric are all you need to get started. Victoria will share with you quick methods and neat tricks for getting the results you desire. Finished project is 27”x18” but can be made larger by adding more blocks.

Crooked Paths Peggy Gelbrich A Quick simple technique to create a 6” finished block. Crooked Paths is just one of the many layouts you can use for this block. It’s a great opportunity to use up a lot of your scraps.

Fat Quarter Log Cabin Kennette Blotzer This is a proven technique on making perfectly square log cabin blocks. You will learn how to cut out 84 pieces to length in 3 minutes. Turn your 4 fat quarters into a 26” wall hanging or do it nine times to make a King size quilt. Ruler & book required.

Pineapple Mimi Shimp Always wanted to make a Pineapple Quilt but don’t know where to begin? Batiks and/or solids are a great place to start. The solid scrappy quilt uses twelve fabrics plus a background. The threecolor version used just one background and one fabric for the arms, with a splash of gold for the center and one arm cut narrower than the others. This fun quilt will receive rave reviews from family and friends. Pre-cutting speeds the piecing but don’t stress over getting it all cut: concentrate on 4-6 blocks!

Spoolin’ Around Linda Peck A fun lap quilt or table cover. Quick and easy to make. The sample was made with inset seams on the spools, but you will have the option of doing them without the inset seams!

Learn to make curvy Log Cabin blocks the traditional cut-to-size way or with the “curvy Log Cabin Trim Tool (my favorite method). The blocks can be combined in many different ways to create circles and waves; you can pick your favorite quilt from the book to make. I chose to make the Dotsy Bed Runner. This technique lends itself to using scraps from your stash or a coordinated look with a bundle of 2½’ wide strips.

Poinsettia Table Runner Mimi Shimp This table runner can be made in cottons or wool for a quick and stunning runner to use this year! Don’t let the applique intimidate you- it is all fusible. Add button hole stitching to edges of petals, leaves and around outside edge if you don’t want to add binding. Or, if you have some decorative stitches on your machine.. you can add more dimension and fun. A great project if you have always wanted to try wool or a combination of wool and cotton.

Tumbling Stars Linda Peck This quilt actually goes together much easier than it looks. Make it as scrappy or formal as you wish. Using the 60 degree triangle ruler makes the cutting quick and accurately. No “Y” seams! Looks great in patriotic, civil war, batiks, 30’s reproductions as will as Christmas fabrics.

Cracklin’ Rosie Peggy Gelbrich Hiding in the Crackin’ Rosie class is an easy 9-patch. It has the look of curves with straight piecing. Tri-Rec ruler set is required

Sew Together Bag Magic Squares Helene Knott With careful attention to color and value, this quilt will have a graphic architectural and 3-dimensional effect but is much easier to construct than most 3-D patterns. The name Magic Squares is a play on the name of a mathematical puzzle in

This bag holds everything(except a mat). I take this everywhere. You have heard of a “Bug Bag”. This is “that” for quilters. A place for your rotary cutter, 8” scissors, marking tools, spools of thread, pin cushion, ruler. I have a 3” x 24” perfect adjustable ruler in mine, needles, seam ripper, tape measure, and the list goes on and on.
