“I can count on one hand the number of fundraising tastings I’ve done where I felt like the quality of the participating wineries was high across the board and the guests truly appreciated the wines… It’s a pleasure when that happens, and you guys nailed it.” Thomas Fogarty, Jr. of Fogarty Winery 2015 Soirée du Vin Guest Speaker

A Benefit to Support the International School of the Peninsula and the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund

What is Soirée du Vin? Soirée du Vin is a high-end wine auction which attracts an audience of 150 oenophiles with exquisite wine collections, gourmands with exceptional palates, aficionados of all forms of entertainment, and seekers of unique, one-of-akind experiences. As Silicon Valley’s premiere wine auction, Soirée du Vin guests are often executives, business owners, entrepreneurs and tastemakers. Each year features fine wine lots carefully selected by Philippe Dietz, wine connoisseur and Head of School for the International School of the Peninsula. Additionally, there are a handful of non-wine lots which feature exclusive trips and experiences: a one-week getaway stay in a La Jolla beach house, a seven-night stay in a Westin ocean front Maui condo, a catamarn cruise on the San Francisco Bay, and a private Santa Barbara wine tasting experience and lunch prepared by winemaker Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat! Over the years, Soirée du Vin has attracted support from leading Bay Area companies and businesses such as BNP Paribas, Tesla Motors, Santana Row, K&L Wine Merchants, Deutshe Bank, Sofinnova Ventures, and many more. Ridge Vineyards is a long-time supporter of this event, and in 2011 Paul Draper, the winemaker and CEO, attended as the featured speaker of Soirée du Vin. In 2012 we welcomed Jim Clendenen, Au Bon Climat’s winemaker and owner, and in 2013 we had the pleasure of featuring Randall Grahm of Bonny Doon Vineyard as our speaker. Soirée du Vin is the Peninsula’s “can’t miss” event for anyone who loves fine wine, gourmet food and high-end living!

About ISTP What is the International School of the Peninsula (ISTP)? The International School of the Peninsula is an independent co-ed nursery to 8th grade Chinese and French language immersion day school. Our mission is to educate students through a rigorous and dynamic bilingual program, inspiring them to develop an inquisitive and responsible international mindset. At ISTP, language is simply a result of what we do. It is a teaching tool from which students learn to achieve academic excellence, character building, and 21st century skills. What is the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund? Our common global future depends on individuals who can appreciate, adapt to, and enjoy the multifaceted, interwoven nature of our planet, its businesses and cultures. Named after our school’s founder, this endowment fund is dedicated towards her vision to provide an education that helps students become global citizens in every sense. Gifts to the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund are investments in this vision for the bilingual and bicultural student of the 21st century, because they help build a strong financial foundation for our school. How does Soirée du Vin benefit ISTP and the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund? Contributions to the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund will not only sustain our school during unforeseen financial difficulties, but will also allow for enhancements to our current programs. As a general fund, it will pinpoint and focus on key areas such as increasing salaries to attract and retain high-quality faculty and staff, updating and providing a top-notch technology program to ensure students’ high-value technology skills, educating students on renewable resources, and much more.

Soirée du Vin is ISTP’s annual fundraiser dedicated to growing the Charlotte de Géry Endowment Fund. Underwriting support of Soirée du Vin helps ensure that revenue from ticket sales and the Live Auction go directly to this Endowment Fund.
