October 2009 NOVEMBER NLI SIGNING DATE Reminder – An NLI signing date (basketball, baseball, golf, softball, swimming & diving, tennis, volleyball) is coming up on November 11. In order to process a prospect for this date all paperwork MUST be received no later than 10am on Monday, November 2nd. There can be no exceptions to this deadline this year due to logistic reasons.
OFFICIAL VISITS If you’re planning to bring a prospect to campus for an official visit, please be aware of what is needed for approval: ‐ First, the prospect needs to register with the Eligibility Center, and have started the amateurism portion (at the very least, a sport must show up in their status report). ‐ A copy of their most recent high school transcripts. ‐ A copy of their test scores. For official visit purposes, a PSAT score may be accepted. Transfers do not need this. ‐ A completed Official Visit Request Form. You can find this on the website, and it must be filled out in its entirety. We can use their NCAA ID number (formerly their Eligibility Center ID) in place of their social security number. In calculating when the 48 hour period starts: ‐ By car, when you begin transporting the prospect to campus. ‐ By plane, when you arrive back to campus. Meals while in transit CAN trigger the 48 hour clock, to be sure, come chat with us! There are also forms that need to be turned in after the official visit is over. These may be found on the website: ‐ The Student‐Host Receipt Form (if applicable) ‐ The Prospect Declaration Form ‐ Official Visit Reimbursement Form
