Heartbreak For Minor Footballers INNISCARRA 1 - 13, AGHADA 4 - 9 Inniscarra suffered a heartbreaking defeat to Aghada in the Premier 2 Rebel Og Minor Football Championship final at Pairc Ui Rinn on Monday night Inniscarra got the ideal start with a point from Adam O'Connell straight after the throw-in but Aghada replied with a goal after four minutes play. Adam then set up Dylan O'Sullivan for another Inniscarra point but then Aghada had a purple patch and scored a goal and four points without reply. Inniscarras next score was a pointed free from Sean O'Donoghue on fourteen minutes. Another ten minutes elapsed before Aaron O'Raw got another point. Aghada finished the first half with two further points to leave the score at half-time INNISCARRA 0 - 4. AGHADA 2 - 6. Inniscarra started the second half in determined fashion and were unlucky not to score at least one goal early on. Aghada got the first point but Inniscarra responded with points from Tomas O'Connor, two from Sean O'Donoghue, and another from Adam O'Connell and one from Stephen Dornan who had replaced Padraig O'Donoghue in the 45 minute. Another goal for Aghada kept them ahead but further points by Aaron O'Raw, Cillian Brown and Stephen Dornan gave Inniscarra hope approaching the last five minutes. Aghada then scored another point but on the hour mark Declan Hyland scored a great goal to leave just three points between the sides with three minutes injury time to play. The next score was another goal but unfortunately it went to Aghada before the final score was a point for Inniscarra by Stephen O'Brien to leave the final score INNISCARRA 1 -13,AGHADA 4 - 9. Congratulations and well done to both panels of Minor Hurlers and Footballers.
