Physical Fitness Requirement and Verification Directions 

Please use this form for any off campus physical activity that you would like to count toward completion of your physical fitness requirement. (Do not use this form to document your participation in Justin-Siena athletic teams, the Strength and Conditioning class, Dance or Advanced Dance classes, or intramurals.)



You can mix and match different activities to fulfill the requirement. Please fill out a separate form per off-campus activity and coach/supervisor/instructor. For example, if you take a yoga class and a spin class at the gym, you need separate verification forms, one for the yoga instructor to verify, and another for the spin instructor to verify.



Justin-Siena Physical Fitness Requirement Students must complete the Physical Fitness requirement through participation in approved physical activities for two years or six athletic seasons. Athletic seasons are defined as the dates inclusive of fall sports, winter sports, spring sports, and summer workouts. Completion of one-year of a Justin-Siena physical education or dance class fulfills 1-year of the Physical Fitness requirement. For off-campus physical activities, one season is the equivalent of three hours a week for 12 weeks, or a total of 36 hours of participation in a physical activity. Members of the Classes of 2017 and 2018 who have already met the previous 1-year Physical Education requirement as of June 1, 2016, will be waived of the new 2-year Physical Fitness requirement; members of the Classes of 2017 and 2018 who have not yet met the previous 1-year Physical Education requirement must complete one year or three athletic seasons of approved physical activity in order to graduate. Members of the Class of 2019 must complete the new Physical Fitness requirement through participation in approved physical activities for two years or six athletic seasons. Any student who has participated in Justin-Siena Athletics for a full season at any level, at any point in their time as a student at Justin-Siena, will be granted one athletic season credit toward the two-year, or six athletic season Physical Fitness requirement.



Suggestions for Off-Campus Physical Activities Students are encouraged to participate that they will enjoy and may lead to a lifetime of fitness. These can include activities such as: Weight lifting, hiking, yoga, walking, running (including training for a race), basketball (pickup games), soccer (indoor/outdoor), disc golf, Rockzilla®/rock climbing, kayaking/rowing, bowling, martial arts, cycling, spin class, dancing/ballet, table tennis, badminton, swimming, golf, skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, gymnastics, horseback riding, boxing, tennis, kickball, softball, baseball, volleyball, surfing, paintball, archery, CrossFit®, Pilates, Pure Barre®, elliptical machine, fencing, fishing, footgolf, hunting, football (flag), water polo, paddling, etc. The list above is not exhaustive.
