OMD empowers low-income, highly motivated community college students to succeed in school, in work, and in life. The unique scholar development model combines mentoring, tutoring, advising, professional development, personal supports, leadership development, and financial assistance to help OMD scholars graduate at a rate twice that of traditional college students. With comprehensive academic, professional, personal and financial support, One Million Degrees scholars are persisting and excelling in college, earning their degrees, and entering the workforce in high-demand occupations or transferring to four-year universities. They are entering high-growth fields, strengthening the economy, and contributing to a robust and diverse talent pool. Position Summary: One Million Degrees is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Office and Development Coordinator to join its team. The Coordinator will report to the Director of Operations and be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the office including managing the flow of calls and visitors, maintaining supplies and equipment, and serving as a liaison to external organizations. The Coordinator will also work closely with the Development team, supporting OMD’s strategy to expand to serve more high-potential community college students in Chicago and beyond. The Coordinator will have the opportunity to gain exposure to areas including HR, finance, development, and event planning. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: General Operations  Maintain an orderly and accessible office space, providing the best possible impression to visitors and facilitating a smooth work flow for staff  Manage the flow of incoming calls, visitors, and mail  Serve as the primary point of contact for a variety of external organizations  Maintain an inventory of supplies and snacks  Schedule meetings and arrange meeting logistics for OMD leadership team  Triage equipment maintenance (computers, printers copy machines, phones etc.) HR/Finance  Assist in the orientation process of new staff  Monitor staff time-off usage



Assist with the completion of expense reports

Development (Fundraising)  Process incoming donations and produce donor acknowledgement letters  Enter constituent data into Salesforce database for tracking and donor cultivation purposes  Execute elements of donor communications plan utilizing Salesforce, MailChimp, and/or Microsoft Outlook  Conduct development research on donor prospects Events    

Manage invitations and RSVPs Order food and supplies Assist at events as needed (some evenings and Saturdays) Other support as needed (creating nametags, stuffing envelopes etc.)

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:  A minimum of 1 year of experience in office administration (or other relevant field)  Associate’s degree; Bachelor's degree preferred  Palpable passion for OMD's mission and the transformative power of education and opportunity  Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written  Track record of operating as a highly organized self-starter, eager to innovate and create new efficiencies  Appetite to actively contribute to OMD's friendly and diverse office culture  Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and Google  Experience in human resources, accounting, and/or development is a plus  Experience with Salesforce or other Customer Relationship Management database a plus COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Salary and benefits will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
