Strictly ’s neil Jones on his obvious wedding song and obsession with Keith Lemon…

Which celebrity do you secretly fancy? I once went through a phase of really fancying Cheryl. I’m not as into her any more, I’m a bit on and off with her. I remember when she first came out, I loved her. Who would you like to play you in the movie of your life? I always joke that Calvin Harris looks like me. I don’t know how good he is at acting, but apparently we look quite alike! When did you last finish a book? I’m not really a story type of person. I like reading books about marketing, social media, technology and so on. I like to learn new things. I finished a really good marketing book just the other day. Who’s on TV too much? People used to say me when they constantly saw me in the background on Strictly! Who’s not on TV enough? Well that’s a no-brainer Neil married – Keith Lemon! I could Katya in 2013 watch him all day. I’m

a massive fan. I know some people don’t really get him, but I find him hilarious. I follow him on Instagram and some of the stuff he posts is just genius. What song reminds you of a happy moment? My and Katya’s wedding song, Me And Mrs Jones. It had to be really, didn’t it! What song most reminds you of an embarrassing moment? I don’t get embarrassed easily so that one’s quite difficult… I don’t think I’ve had too many shameful moments! Which song do you wish you’d written? Take Me To Church, by Hozier. It’s the sort of song I could listen to over and over and never get bored of. Which song do you wish could be unwritten? Hotline Bling by Drake – I can’t stand it! When I first heard it I thought it was a joke. I thought it was some sort of weird karaoke thing! Yep, we’d forgotten all about them too, but it turns out while Ed Sheeran has been tediously taking over the charts, funk legends Jamiroquai have been putting the finishing touches to this – their first new album in seven years, and hoping their big comeback will signal the end of the ginger king’s reign. It might not go quite to plan though, judging by this hit and miss selection of new songs, but the unmistakable sound will certainly please fans. Front man Jay Kay’s taken a break from collecting ugly sports cars and even uglier hats to pen a batch of new tunes, such as Cloud 9, that are decent, but could’ve been released in their 90s heyday. However, the rather lovely Daft Punk-inspired title track stands out and was an obvious choice for lead single. It won’t win them any new converts, and there’s nothing on here to rival the brilliance of old greats such as Cosmic Girl and Canned Heat (the soundtrack to cinema’s best ever dance sequence in Napoleon Dynamite, FYI), but existing fans will lap it up. new-magazine.co.uk
