Achieving Productivity, Profitability, and Environmental Outcomes Preliminary Recommendations • Shift 50% of USDA conservation funding to support producer-led cooperative watershed conservation and engage 50% of working lands in such efforts by 2035 • Increase continuous no till by 50% and plant cover crops on 65% of annual row crop acreage by 2025 • Reduce by 30% number of lakes, rivers, streams impaired by primarily due to agriculture by 2025 • Phase out application of nitrogen that is not efficiently used • Merge and/or manage USDA on-farm data collection programs to provide better tools to growers and policy makers
