The Life of Melanie McIntyre Holmes On July 28, 2016 at 4:22 pm., Melanie Holmes found peace as she transitioned from this life to life eternal with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Melanie knew that her earthly battle of physical troubles, sorrow and suffering was over. Her journey on earth had ended and what an everlasting peace she would have just walking around Heaven all day. On October 23, 1955 in Goldsboro, North Carolina, Melanie was born the last child of six children to Earl and Dorothy McIntyre. She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Patricia King and Gloria Lewis; two brothers Edward Earl McIntyre (Richard) and Apostle Donnie L. McIntyre and special nephew Edward Earl McIntyre Jr. Melanie attended and graduated from Goldsboro High School in 1973. She obtained her secretary’s diploma and worked for some time with Goldsboro Social Services. Later she obtained her Cosmetology License where she worked with her brother Donnie doing hair until she opened her own beauty shop downtown on James Street. Melanie loved her biological family and her church family. She joined her brother Apostle Donnie McIntyre’s church Christ Memorial Interdenominational Church where she grew in her relationship with her Savior. Melanie was quick witted and could keep you laughing and she loved to laugh. Though she was faced with an illness she never let it keep her down long because of her trust in Jesus. She was a spirited, strong and determined woman and these qualities definitely shone through during her long illness. She leaves to cherish her most loving and precious memories with two daughters, Quinsha Warren and Carmalniter Eason both of Goldsboro; grandson Juan Whitley and granddaughter Tatianna Eason, her brother, Leslie Middleton of Dudley; a special sister-in-law Pastor Diane McIntyre and a host other relatives and friends. This mother, grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin and friend shared her laughter and love with all she knew. Today, she is with us in our hearts, and words cannot express how much she means to each of us and how much she will be missed. We honor her memory today and celebrate her life.
