All fans need to be on opposite sidelines from the players when possible and please encourage ALL to cheer “RESPECTFULLY & SUPPORTIVELY” for both teams. After each game both teams shake hands and move away from the fields as quickly as possible to allow the next teams to set-up and warm-up. Please be sure your team is using the restrooms and trash cans. Please respect the facilities, on and off the fields. All tournament games MUST be played at the THPRD HMT facility during your scheduled time/field slot in order to be counted in the tournament. NO EXCEPTIONS.

The Master Clock will be located at the Main Tent and will be used to run ALL games ALL day. Please set your watch and build your schedules accordingly. This is a large facility; please allow enough time to get where you need to be. TVYLL Clubs will provide the penalty time keeper and scoring for each game. Games will be two 25-minute RUNNING TIME halves with a 5-minute halftime. Each team is allowed one 1-minute timeout per half – except in the last 2 minutes. Horns: o 1-long horn blast will go off to start & end each half o Refs & Field Monitors will issue the Two-Minute warning to start times before each half o We will have field monitors on each field to help communicate time to the Referees & Coaches o Please note we’re on RUNNING TIME, it is critically important to get your Team on/off the field ON Time
Ref Calls
As always, our Referees are “our” HS Boys… NO yelling, taunting, coaching or harassing them from the sidelines and we’re asking Coaches to please help keep your Fans within reason. We will eject ANYONE who violates this rule. Poor behavior: The referees have been instructed to give one warning. If the behavior continues by a coach, parent or player, the offending team will be a given a “3” minute non‐ releasable penalty. If it happens a 2nd time by the same party, they will be ejected from the Game. If it continues, the team will forfeit the game AND the offending party will be asked to leave the Tournament. If any player gets “4” personal penalties in 1-game he will be ejected and cannot play in the next game. NO EXCEPTIONS. Penalties will follow the OYLA guidelines of 1.5x during running time games (ex. 1 minute personal = 90seconds) If any player intentionally injures a player, coach, spectator or Tournament Rep, he will be immediately ejected from the Tournament and his Team will forfeit the game. NO EXCEPTIONS.
Procedures & Rules
Players: A player may ONLY play on a single team during this tournament, MUST be listed on the roster for said team and submitted before the established deadline. If a player is moving to another team within the same “Club”, then the same rules apply. In the rare case there’s a need for an exception request, those need to be provided to the Tournament Director, in writing, at least 7 days prior to the Tournament. Exceptions will be VERY limited, primarily granted to teams needing to fill in for a goalie due to injury or true vacancy. For other OYLA Rules, please see https://oregonyouthlacrosse.org/rules for more details. Tournament Structure: 48 Select-level Teams in total 24-Boys 7/8 and 18-Boys 5/6 Each age grouping will be split into a GOLD and a SILVER skill-level division Each team will play a minimum of 3 games for seeding The top 4-teams in each division will play-off for the Medal Rounds. Similar to last year, we will be using Tourney Machine for scheduling and standings Tie Breaker for Seeding: (see https://tourneymachine.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/204754724-Tie-Breakers-Explained ) Goal Differential - The differential tie breaker determines the total difference between a team’s score versus their opponents. The largest differential wins the tie breaker. Goals Scored - The total of a team’s score. The higher total wins the tie breaker. Goals Allowed - The total of a team’s opponents score. The smallest total wins the tie breaker. During Play-Offs, in the event of a Tie game, we’ll go to a 3-player (Goalie, D-pole, and Attack) Brave Heart Format to decide the winner. Substitutions in Brave Heart are ONLY allowed in cases of an injured player. NO EXCEPTIONS. Rules: Tournament Play will follow The US Lacrosse Youth rules as amended by the OYLA rules matrix for Select play. See www.oyla.org for details.
