Orientation Information Table Student Union, Ballroom Lobby Throughout Orientation, we will have the Orientation Information Table available to answer your questions. While you will be escorted to all sessions, if you get lost or have any concerns, please let us help you. Water We will be doing a lot of walking today. Please keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water. Orientation Lost & Found We will have an Orientation Lost & Found at the Orientation Information Table. If you find a lost object, please drop it off. The Office of Orientation is not responsible for items you misplace during your stay.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS 8:00 AM – 9:15 AM Parent Check-In Student Union, Ballroom 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM Campus Resources Fair Student Union, 1st Floor Students & Parents are encouraged to visit with representatives from our many campus offices to learn more about the services they offer. 9:15 AM – 9:45 AM
Welcome to University of Louisiana at Lafayette Student Union, Ballroom Students and Parents will be welcomed to the university by members of our Student Orientation Staff, university administration, and provided an overview of the day’s schedule of events.
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM Life Outside the Classroom: University Resources and Student Affairs Student Union, Evangeline Room (2nd Floor) This is an exciting time for your students and we are ready to assist in their transition. Join the Dean of Students to learn about resources and services available to aid in your students’ success outside the classroom. 10:30 AM – 11:00 AM Helping Your Student Succeed Academically Student Union, Evangeline Room (2nd Floor) A Counselor from The Academic Success Center will give you an overview of academic life at UL and expectations inside the classroom. She will introduce you to the different academic resources on campus that can help your student succeed at UL Lafayette.
11:00 AM – 11:30 AM Business Services: A Look at Tuition and Fees Student Union, Evangeline Room (2nd Floor) Learn tuition and fee payment deadlines, methods of payment, dates when scholarship and financial aid money is posted on the student account, payment plan options, and other services from Business Services and Student Cashiers Center. 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Student Organization Expo Student Union, 1st Floor Get Involved! UL has over 170 student organizations. Students are encouraged to meet with members of our student organizations to learn more about involvement opportunities on campus.

Money Matters Student Union, Ballroom This session is required for all TOPS Recipients. It covers important information on the TOPS program, as well as other information on Financial Aid.
1:05 PM – 1:35 PM
Understanding Academic Course Placement & Advising Student Union, Evangeline Room (2nd Floor) This session will address important concerns parents have about the academic curriculum, academic advising structure, and course registration process. We will provide you helpful insights on how to support your student and our university in meeting degree requirements.
1:40 PM – 2:10 PM
Cajun Card Student Union, Evangeline Room (2nd Floor) Come learn about your student’s Cajun Card. This session will include discussions on Cajun Cash, card access, cardholder responsibilities, and card dining options. If you are interested in a safe and more convenient way of student purchases on and off campus, come join us!

Campus Tour Departs Student Union, Ballroom Students & Parents who want to participate in a guided campus tour can meet with members of our Student Orientation Staff. This tour will provide an overview of the physical space on campus and may assist you with locating your classes following registration.
OPTIONAL AFTERNOON ACTIVITIES Financial Aid Guillory Hall, 1:00 – 4:30 PM If you have already submitted your FAFSA, you may meet with a financial aid counselor to learn about the next steps in the financial aid process. Scholarships Office Martin Hall, Room 260 Students who have received or will be receiving any scholarships from the university or external sources should visit the Scholarships Office to ensure that all their information is on file and verify requirements for maintaining their scholarships. Services for Students with Disabilities Conference Center, Room 126 If you have a documented disability or will need assistance when you come to campus, be sure to stop by the Office of Services for Students with Disabilities. Honors Program Judice-Rickels Hall, Room 208 The Honors program provides serious and highly motivated undergraduate students with an enhanced set of educational opportunities so that those students who seek added dimension, enrichment, and challenge in their studies may find realization of their potential. Housing Questions University Union, Room 240 If you have questions about your housing options, on-campus housing, or wish to take a tour of our on-campus housing facilities, please visit the UL Department of Housing to speak to a member of their staff. University Bookstore We encourage all Orientation participants to visit our University Bookstore for all your official Ragin’ Cajun gear, to buy their textbooks, and to check out their other merchandise.
