Ottawa, ON SESSION DESCRIPTIONS Principles to Govern Your Practice - Lorne Robinson (.5 CE credit) This session will reveal five key principles that every Christian advisor should understand in order to embrace an eternal perspective in their business. Active listening for Client Communication - Ray Borg (1 CE credit) The largest part of our day whether working or otherwise is spent communicating. As an advisor, or in any other role, communication is a key dynamic in building relationships. However at times it is easy to become so focused on what we are going to say, we may completely miss what the person across the table is saying. This workshop will teach us how to improve our ability to identify needs and desires, match them with the best plans, products and services while enhancing our relationships with those we serve.

Challenging Conversations with Clients – Brad Smith ( 1 CE credit) Several years ago, Brad took the Kingdom Advisors Core Training and was challenged to work his personal convictions out more intentionally in his client process. This journey of faith / work integration has led Brad to completely renovate his interactions with clients on a number of levels. In this interview, he and Lorne Robinson discuss his journey and talk about some of the important points that he has learned along the way. Benefit from the lessons that Brad’s experience and expertise can offer. Advising Amidst Fear and Uncertainty – (panel advisors) (1 CE credit) Fear and uncertainty are constant when we consider the changes that can occur in clients lives: loss of a spouse or loved one (accident, sickness, death, divorce), change in employment status (loss of business, job), or even changes in family circumstances and relationships. Added to that are today’s investment environment and economic challenges. Advisors are expected to help clients navigate these unpredictable situations. These conversations can be difficult to manage and panelists will reveal how their use of Biblical principles and wisdom in their practices are key in helping clients not only make important financial decisions but remain constant in the midst of ongoing change.
