Singapore, 10 July 2014 – One Raffles Place shopping mall is delighted to announce that it will feature a shower of flowers as it transforms its atrium into a Floating Garden from 24 to 27 July 2014. The spectacular five-storey high Floating Garden will feature over 9,000 brightly-coloured Gerberas hanging from the ceiling of the shopping mall atrium. The display is expected to be one of Singapore’s largest hanging floral displays in a mall. Basking in the natural lighting through the skylight, the floral display provides a magnificent image for the newly-refurbished shopping mall. The embellishment of the atrium with blooms of Hydrangea flowers completes the look and ambience of the Floating Garden, bringing to the working population, shoppers and local residents the beauty of nature in the Central Business District.

This is also part of our commitment in bringing to the working population, visitors and local residents in Raffles Place a little something every day.” The spectacular display is designed by Mr Dan Takeda, an established Japanese flower designer whose previous works have been featured in the displays of several high-end luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Mr Takeda said of his latest creative production, “I was inspired by the skyscrapers in Singapore, and how everything grows vertically in this beautiful garden city. The Floating Garden display fully utilises the space in the atrium, creating an oasis in the heart of the city that is One Raffles Place shopping mall.”

In conjunction with the Floating Garden display, One Raffles Place shopping mall will launch a series of promotional activities. A Best Selfie Contest requires participants to capture a selfie with the Floating Garden, and share on Instagram or Twitter with the hashtag #OneRafflesPlaceSelfie. The five best entries will win One Raffles Place shopping mall gift vouchers worth S$100 each.
Shoppers also stand a chance to win gift vouchers by sharing a picture of the installation on Instagram or Twitter captioned with their guess of the number of flowers used in the Floating Garden display, along with the hashtag #OneRafflesPlaceFlowers.
