Current High School Federation rules will govern play. Intramural policies, procedures, eligibility requirements, etc. and specific tournament rules shall take precedent. Full Court game – 5 players on the court for each team. Playing time shall be 24 minutes running clock or 15 points, whichever comes first. All baskets inside the arc will count as 1 point. All baskets outside the arc will count as 2 points. Teams should decide before the game who will have the first possession. A team must have at least 4 players on the court ready to play at game time or the team will forfeit. Overtime Procedure: A "sudden death" period will begin immediately with the first team to score declared the winner. The team that started the game on defense will begin with the ball. After each score the other team starts with the ball. No “Make it-Take it”. Stalling will not be an acceptable practice and every possession should be a legitimate attempt to score. If a staff member is alerted to stalling he/she has the right to stop the clock or award a turnover. Rec Sports wants games played to a 15 point finish whenever possible. Substitutions may be made after a basket, or any stoppage in play. An individual cannot foul out of a game but may be ejected by the intramural staff. Flagrant fouls and/or any act of misconduct, physical or verbal, directed towards any individual, will result in an immediate ejection. All disciplinary situations involving individual(s)/team(s) will be reviewed. Teams may also be removed for poor behavior. Any team having a player or themselves removed from the tournament will be subject to the loss of their forfeit fee. Players must call their own fouls. If a player is fouled in the act of shooting and makes the basket, the basket counts and the ball changes possession. If the offensive player is not in the act of shooting or does not score on the shot when fouled, possession is retained and ball is checked in at the top of the key. All offensive fouls result in a change of possession. Remember: Defense calls all offensive violations (stalling, traveling, double dribbles, etc)
