Program Information & FAQs What is Ovation? Ovation is our extended daycare service that we provide to our families at The Village School for all grades Pre School through 8th grade. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing and fun environment for those children who require care and supervision . We hope to create a place of comfort so that the children are given a true sense of “home away from home."
What are the hours of Ovation?
Open 6:45am until school begins
Available at dismissal until 6:00pm
What does my child do in Ovation? Daily schedules for our children will vary based on current grade level. For our primary students (PS, PK & K) we incorporate rest time, projects, crafts, reading time, and much more. For elementary students we will have homework time but will also incorporate outdoor play, crafts, and a variety of projects as well. All middle school students are expected to use their time in the afternoon to complete all homework and school work. Once completed, this group will work on the computer, read books, or enjoy some field game activities. For all grade levels we will occasionally offer special events and activities each month.
Can I send my child for daily Ovation? Ovation is available for enrollment by the semester, month, week, or day. We ask that all parents notify us in advance when your child will be attending ovation or if they will be absent as it will be important that we know that all children have been accounted for. In order to receive the discounted rate for semester enrollment, you must register before the semester begins.
What happens on early dismissal days? On dates when students are dismissed early, Ovation will open at your child’s dismissal and we will supervise those who are previously registered for the Ovation program. There will not be an additional cost for students that are already enrolled in the Ovation program. If a Non-Ovation student would like to participate in Ovation during these dates, there will be a $50.00 fee for participation. A variety of special activities and events may occur during these longer days in Ovation as well. Is Ovation open even if the school is closed? Ovation will be open on select dates during holidays even when the school is closed. Please refer to the Ovation Closing Dates document which will review which dates Ovation will NOT be open. If a student is enrolled for Semester or Monthly Ovation when a holiday occurs, they are allowed to attend at no additional cost. For all other students, there will be a $100.00 fee for each day of attendance on specific holidays when Ovation is open. A variety of special activities and events may occur during these full days in Ovation including potential off-campus field trips. Where do I drop off and pick up my child?
HERE
What if I pick up my child late? The Ovation personnel have family obligations and must leave on time. If an emergency should arise, please call Ovation to let us know you will be arriving late. If you arrive to pick up your child after 6:00 p.m., there will be a late charge assessed. Please see a breakdown of late fee charges on the following page.
What if I want my child to be picked up by someone not listed on the authorized pickup list? If someone other than yourself will be collecting your child, you must send a note signed by you and instructing us who the person is that will be collecting your child. We will also check IDs to ensure that the proper person is taking your child. We also encourage you to call and/or email to ensure that we aware of this change. Please make certain that the name of any potential person(s) picking up your child is included in our records. How do I collect my child once I pull into the circular drive? Please ensure that you pull as far forward as you can when driving into the circular drive to allow plenty of space for other parents. We ask that you get out of your vehicle and meet the adult supervisor at the door to sign your child out. We will call for your child to come to the door for you to receive them. It is important that the individual picking up your child physically signs them out so that we can properly track when and with whom each child has left with. If there is not an adult at the door, please buzz in so that we can come meet you. My child is enrolled in a specialized afterschool program (Chess, Soccer, Science, etc.), how does Ovation manage this change in schedule ? For those students that are enrolled in one of our VASE Programs (Village After School Enrichment), we will have a full list of all program enrollments. We will know which students should report directly to Ovation, and which will report to an afterschool class. At the conclusion of their afterschool class, the program instructors will drop off these enrolled in Ovation to the assembly room and we will check all rosters at that time to ensure all students are accounted for. If you plan on sending your child to carpool at the conclusion of their afterschool class rather than back to Ovation, please be sure to give us prior notice so we are aware.
