Overview Map Hilltop Park and Pool at the corner of Republic of Texas Blvd and Travis Country Cir.
Why are there two ready bench locations? Kids 11 and older swim 50 yards (down and back). They start at the same end as the timers. They use Ready Bench 1 for all their events including relays. Kids 10 and under swim 25 yards. They start on the opposite end from the timers. They use Ready Bench 2 for their individual events. For their relays the kids 10 and under teams are split up. Swimmers #1 and #3 are at ready bench 1. Swimmers #2 and #4 are at ready bench 2.

The operation of a ready bench Each ready bench has three required positions (but more volunteers are always helpful). ● Rear loader, accept the children from the age group parent, organize them by heat and lane. Load them onto the back bench. ● Front checker, double check that the children shifting into the front bench are in the correct heat and lanes. ● Runner, walk the children to their assigned lanes and hand them off to the coaches. Ready bench 2 requires two runners because the pool is so far away. The first runner takes the kids from the front bench to the edge of the deck.

Paths for Age Group Parents The green lines indicate the correct paths for the age group parents to lead children to the ready benches. Strongly discourage age group parents from taking the red path. It leads to congestion and confusion; it slows down the meet.
