Under the guidance of Ewing丁ownship, the Environmental Commission's activities are confined to t｢a面ng, public education and awareness, and looking for grants
to improve Ewing's tree canopy.丁he丁ownship's public Works Depa直ment handles the care and maintenance ofa= trees on municipal p｢ope直y, and js responsibie for a concerted e什〇日in leafciean-up in the fa= and early winterwith 3 sta什membe｢s working under a
Ce面fied丁ree Expe乱 丁he丁ownship's planning Board is cu｢｢ently reviewing its landscaping ordinance in order to add
additional requirements for tree removal and ｢epiacement. Over the past year, the丁ownship has made a conce直ed e什o直to make tree planting an essential component ofa= development

Training and Professional Development Dan Bu｢ke and Am Fa｢nham of the Environmental Commission are bothしicensed Landscape
Architects (LLA). Between them they received more than 40 CEUs for attending five seminars
on tree-based subjects: Woody plants, pe｢enniai plants, invasive species, etc. That information has been sent separately to DEP, to the person whom Pain Zipse told us
Now handles the CEUs. Anothe｢ envi｢onmentai commission member, John Hoegi, attended the N｣S丁F Core-丁｢a面ng
in Atlantic City, becoming the third environmental commission member to be c○｢e-t｢ained･ Joe
Mi｢abe=a, Chair, and Dan Bu｢ke, ｣｣Awent previously.Two more maygo in 2016. It's wo直h noting that the Environmental Commission added three new members this year: B｢uce BIack, PhD, of FMC Corp, is an entomologist弓oame Mu=owney, a retired =b｢a｢ian specia=zing in technology; and, ｣e什Passe, PhD, is Dean of the Co=ege of Education at丁CN｣･

of the subjectt｢ee. Eastern Redbud, Witch-hazei, Pawpaw and Saucer Magnolia were four of the twelve submitted this Year. Go to ewingec.erg to see the f=e of 丁｢ees of the Month･
With the addition of○○anne Mu=owney, the王wing Envi｢onmentai Commission now has a website packed with information (ewingec.o｢g), as we= as a presence on Faceb○○k t〇〇･
Ewing's tree canopy is about 27%, and we knowthat we face devastating tosses from the Eme｢aid Ash Borer...it's not a pleasant picture. An inf°｢mational meeting for envi｢onmental

Statement of丁｢ee甘udget P｢uning, planting and maintenance is conducted entirely within the丁ownship's parks and Recreation Budget. As resources are requested and/or required, the丁ownship Administrator,
together with the Public Works Director and丁｢ee Maintenance Supe両so｢ evaluate and make
resources avaiiable.
Piah i調plementation ln late 201与the Environmental Commission began planning for possible grant applications to Sustainable ｣e｢sey and DEP (Csip) f°｢t｢ee planting funds for 2016 (an app=cation f°｢ CSIP
Funds in 2013 fo｢t｢ee planting wastu｢ned down). 1n addition, the Scudde｢ Fa=s Bridge project may get going in 2016.That could lead to the丁ownship getting funds for tree planting from the
