SAM Animation User’s Guide The “Colors” box allows you to select the color with which you wish do draw or write. The color you select will appear in the large box to the left of your color options.

The “Tool Properties” box allows you to select the thickness of the lines being drawn or the size of the text by using the slider. You can also select fill to create solid shapes as opposed to an outline.

The “Chroma Key” box allows you to select colors and upload backgrounds. It is very similar to green screening. Follow the instructions in the next section to use the chroma key functions.

This part of the frame-editing menu allows you to flip frames and overlay frames with a grid, which can be very helpful when you want to line up text or images when editing. Note: The grid will only be displayed when in the edit screen. It will not appear on the frame in the animation.

The “Display Duration” box allows you to alter the amount of time a frame is displayed. Using the slider, you can make it longer or shorter. “Reset” will return the duration to its original length.

Using the Chroma Key Function The “Chroma Key” box allows you to select colors and upload backgrounds. It is very similar to green screening. Note: This function works best if there is high contrast between the background and props and if there is little color variance in the background.

To work the chroma key function, make sure it is enabled. Then click the “Color Selector” box.

Select Background

Next click on the background color in your frame. It will turn red.

Enjoy Your Trip!

And now we’re standing on a beach at sunset! Just think; your characters can now travel to any exotic location that you can think of!

Note: You must go through this process with each new frame you wish to apply it to. It cannot be saved as a template and applied to multiple frames that way.
