FAQ’s about Move What is Move? Move is a 5-day, high school only event held all over the country. It’s designed to amplify the call of Christ on students’ lives to become Kingdom workers. Move is located on college campuses during the summer and challenges high school students through intense, interactive worship, dynamic preaching, small group study, and community building. A week at Move also includes fun activities like dodge ball, swimming, volleyball, basketball, a trip to a beach on Lake Michigan, and more. Which Move conference is Kingsway headed to this summer? We are heading to the campus of Hope College in Holland, Michigan . Why do you choose to attend Move rather than camp or another event? Year after year, we find that a week at Move provides our students with a chance to zero in on their relationship with God. The entire week is designed with high school students in mind and truly pushes them to take their faith to the next level. We also value the time it gives our adult leaders to bond with our students. A full week of hanging out, eating together, praying together, and worshipping with one another deepens the mentoring impact our adults can have in the students’ lives. This week also fosters stronger relationships among our group as a whole. Since we pull from so many different area high schools, we love giving our students a week to spend getting to know one another better and to develop friendships with people who share their values and beliefs. Also this week is incredibly FUN! What is the student to adult ratio? Is there adequate supervision and safety? Our goal is to have one adult leader for every 5-7 students at Move. All adults have completed background checks and a volunteer application with references prior to the trip. Most, if not all, have been serving at Kingsway or in our specific ministry area for years. All leaders carry cell phones with them and are trained to deal with emergency issues that might arise. In addition, our group stays together most of the time. The only exception to this rule is during afternoon recreation time. On Hope’s campus they will have sports activities, a café, a game room, and their dorm room to hang out in. Students must inform their adult leader about who, what, where, and how long they will be gone. It usually ends up working out that we have an adult leader hanging out with their teens in all of the major recreation areas.

Cost: $310 per student from 1/12-1/19 $330 after 1/19 $345 after 5/11 $50 non-refundable deposit is due at registration

June 16– 16– 21, 2014 FAQ’s about Move continued... Where do students spend the night and who are their roommates? Students stay in the college dorm rooms and have the opportunity to choose whom they would like to stay with, often 2, 3, or sometimes 4 to a room. How does my child travel to Move? On the Monday that we leave, we check everyone in, hold a brief parent meeting, and pray together. We then load up on the buses and caravan up to Hope College. The trip takes about 4 1/2 hours with a couple of stops. Are scholarships available? Kingsway does offer scholarships for those who need financial assistance. Our scholarships will be part of the online registration process. Scholarships are NOT intended to help lower the cost for a family who can afford to sacrificially pay the full amount. Rather, our desire is that any student who wants to attend, but does not have the financial means to do so, will be aided by the scholarship. Because we have limited scholarship funds and many families that will need assistance of some kind, we ask that you pray as a family and decide the maximum amount you can contribute toward your student attending Move prior to submitting a scholarship form. By you giving sacrificially, it will allow us to send as many students as possible to Move. Where do I go for the latest updates on this trip? We try to keep our website as up-to-date as possible. If you have a question, be sure to check there first. You can also contact us here at the church office.
