PARENT NOTIFICハ ‐ ON 2016/20■ 7 The federal "Every Student Succeeds Act" (ESSA) gives parents the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teacher providing instruction to their child. Parents may request the
following information
:
xwhether the teacher has met Arkansas qualification and licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction xwhether the state waived its qualification and licensing criteria to permit the teacher to teach on an emergency or provisional license
xthe baccalaureate degree major of the teacher, any other graduate certification or degree held and the field of discipline of the certification or degree xwhether the child is provided services by a teacher's aide or similar paraprofessional and, if so, their qualifications
Parents rnay obtairr the above inforrnation, in a tirnely rnanner, by presenting a urritten request to the building prineipal.
