Paris High School Choir Students Earn Medals at State
Eight Paris High School choir students won medals at the State Class 4A UIL Choir Solo & Ensemble Contest over the Memorial Day weekend in Pflugerville. Gold medalists earning superior ratings on their solo performances (top row, from left) are Dylan Candelora, Deja Sikes, Tieren Gates, and Quinn Dillard. Silver medalists receiving excellent ratings (front row, from left) are Molly Jackson, Juan Flores, Autumn Albertson, and Bianey Cortes. First-year choir student Blaine Grissom received a good rating on his solo. The entire group qualified for the state contest by receiving superior ratings on their solos that were rated difficult at the regional contest held at Texas A&M-Commerce. The PHS choir director is Jan Blize assisted by Hunter Sitz and accompanist Dottie Billman.
