Part-Time Outreach and Engagement Coordinator Job Summary:
The Outreach and Engagement Coordinator will advance the mission of the Jewish Federation of Greater Charlotte by enhancing community engagement and building Jewish identity. This part-time position is responsible for strategically coordinating and implementing Outreach initiatives to a variety of demographics, including but not limited to young adults, young families, newcomers, and emerging communities. This position reports to the Director of Outreach, Education & Engagement. The ideal candidate for this position is approachable, creative, a conscientious go-getter, passionate about Jewish life and engaging diverse populations.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions:
Young Adult Engagement •
Provide a gateway for involvement in the local Jewish community and JFGC for young Jewish adults

Staff NEXTGen (an affinity group for Jewish young adults ages 21-45) Committee and all related subcommittees, including meeting scheduling, preparation and follow-up
•
Plan and execute all NEXTGen events and programs while working in partnership with the Director and volunteer committees

Track and follow up with event participants
• •
Support and attend NEXTGen Campaign functions and events
Coordinate and provide administrative support of JFGC young leadership development program, the Bernstein Leadership Group (BLG) Partner with other community agencies and synagogues around programming and outreach to this demographic
Young Families •
Manage all aspects of the PJ Library database and registration system including address changes, returned mail and vetting newly enrolled families

Communicate with the PJ Library national office regarding billing, operations, and subscriptions
• •
Support the implementation of and frequently attend PJ Library programs and events
Staff PJ Library/Shalom Baby Committee including meeting scheduling, preparation and followup Interact regularly with PJ families to further strengthen their understanding of and connection to the local Jewish community
Outreach
•
Serve as a point-of-contact for people looking for information about the Charlotte Jewish community
•
Implement “Newcomer Schmooze”, a bi-annual gathering to warmly welcome newcomers to the Charlotte Jewish community
•
Work closely with emerging Jewish communities and agencies in the greater Charlotte area to strengthen Jewish life and connect them to JFGC
Other
•
Assist with general campaign and other Federation events/efforts as needed
•
Provide administrative support for Federation outreach committees, including but not limited to scheduling meetings, preparing meeting materials, meeting setup and break-down, and documentation of meeting minutes
•
Manage NEXTGen and PJ Library social media accounts
•
Miscellaneous responsibilities as needed
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required
•
Required Work Experience:
•
Minimum of 1-3 years’ experience in Jewish communal service preferred
•
Knowledge and understanding of Jewish practices, customs, and culture is preferred
