kick off just days after NGWSD, we want to generate excitement about the events, honor the success of past and present generations of female Olympians, and celebrate the inspiration that female Olympians provide to all girls and women in athletics. “Passing the Torch, Blazing the Trail” also addresses the future of sports for girls and women: we look to the path already forged by female athletes and pioneers as inspiration as we continue to blaze the trail and create increased opportunities for girls and women to participate in sports.
