About Me Greetings! I am Mrs. Tucker! I have been the proud principal of Steed Elementary for 5 years. I love being a Charger. Once a Charger, always a Charger. My husband of 15 years, DeMond Tucker, attended Steed Kindergarten through 6th grade. We have three awesome children; two girls and a boy! As the leader of learning in our building, I strive to create an environment where children learn, grow and excel to their full potential. The body achieves what the mind believes, so we want all of our students to realize they have the power to succeed!
My Education I was born in Oklahoma, but raised in Oakland, California. I went K through 12th grade in the Bay Area. I loved school (then & now)! I had the opportunity to attend an academic charter school in high school. After high school, we moved back to Oklahoma so I could attend the University of Oklahoma… Boomer Sooner!!! After teaching for 7 years, I decided to get my master’s in education at the University of Central Oklahoma… Go Broncos!!!
My Experience I began my educational career in Oklahoma City Public Schools. I taught Kindergarten and held the position of Reading Facilitator(K -5th grade) at Dunbar and Eisenhower Elementary from 1995 until 2004. After transferring to Mid-Del and teaching for one year at Pleasant Hill, I started my administrative career as an assistant principal at Soldier Creek. In 2008, I became the principal at Country Estates. Subsequently in 2012, I was asked to be the proud principal at Steed!

Interesting Fact about Me I built computer disk drives at Seagate Technologies when I was in college. I had to wear a suit that covered my body from head to toe, and then take an air shower before entering the “Clean Room” to build the disk drives.
