Figure S8. Raman spectra of PDA film before (a) and after (b) UV irradiation. Gold nanoparticles attached on APTES-modified glass was used as a Raman enhancement substrate for Raman measurements. The peak at 1092 cm−1 was attributed to the substrate and the broad peak at 1593 cm−1 was assigned to the deformation of aromatic rings in PDA coating. After UV irradiation, the peak at 1593 cm−1 vanished, indicating the UV-induced oxidation of PDA film.
Figure S9. FTIR spectra of polytetrafluoroetylene (PTFE) film (a), PDA-coated PTFE film (b), and PDA-coated PTFE film after UV irradiation (c). We noted that for FTIR characterization, PDA film was deposited on a PTFE film by repeating the 12 h-immersion step for 8 times to obtain a thick PDA film. Accordingly, 60 min UV irradiation was carried out. The peaks at 1599, 1517, 1464, and 1064 cm-1 in spectrum b could be assigned to the PDA film. After UV irradiation, these characteristic peaks disappear in spectrum c, which was in good agreement with spectrum a of filter membrane, suggesting the complete oxidation of PDA film after the UV irradiation.
