Peace (gk: eirene): Security & safety. The tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and content with its earthly lot, of whatsoever sort that is.

Those closest to you can have the greatest doubts. Thomas spent years as a disciple yet didn’t believe their testimony. (V25) For eight days Thomas didn’t share what his fellow disciples shared – the awe of meeting the resurrected Christ. Imagine the tension of Thomas hearing talk of Jesus’ resurrection 24/7 for eight days.
