Instructions to complete “Peachy Petals” earrings: Step 1 Cut a 4 foot length of wire. Turn a small loop at the top end of the wire to keep the beads from falling off. Step 2 String 5 muscat seed beads. Bring the starting beads within a few inches of the end of the small loop from Step 1. Step 3 Make a large loop of bare wire right under the beads from Step 2, and twist it just below the beads making about a 1 inch twisted length. This loop will form the stem of the petal/leaf. Note: The portion of the wire with the initial separated 5 muscat beads (Step 1) is called the basic wire. The portion of wire with the twisted loop (Step 2) is called the stem. The remaining portion of the long length of working wire is called the feed wire. Step 4 String 8 pink blush seed beads. Bring them down the feed wire and line them up snugly against the beads on the basic wire. Bend the feed wire across the front of the basic wire. Wrap the feed wire around behind the basic wire and continue to wrap the feed wire all the way around the basic wire. You are making a complete loop. Step 5 String 8 pink blush seed beads. Line them up snugly against the basic beads. As you did on the top (Step 4), bring the feed wire across the front of the stem wire. Wrap a loop of feed wire around the stem wire just like you did at the top. Step 6 Repeat steps 4-5 with the following beads: 13 – berry seed beads 13 – berry seed beads 18 – muscat seed beads 18 - muscat seed beads 23 – pink blush seed beads 23 – pink blush seed beads 28 – berry seed beads 28 – berry seed beads 33 – muscat seed beads 33 – muscat seed beads 38 – pink blush seed beads 38 - pink blush seed beads 43 – berry seed beads 43 – berry seed beads Step 7 On the last row, wrap the feed wire tightly around the stem wire several times, and then trim it with wire cutters. To prevent the wire from snagging, be sure to flatten it down against the stem wire with a pair of needle nose pliers and tuck in the beadwork. Step 8 Cut the top loop made from Step 1. Create a wire wrapped loop snug against the top beads (see Wire Wrapping Technique). Step 9 Repeat Steps 1 – 8 for the second earring.
