March 2018 Dear Junior Parent/Guardian, We have been planning an exciting night for the Junior Prom on Friday, April 13, 2018. The students have selected their theme: “Enchanted,” which will transform our gymnasium into a beautiful park setting. The following outlines important information regarding the prom. •
Tickets for the prom will be sold from Monday, March 26th through Thursday, March 29th during 7th period lunch.

Tickets will be $65 per person, or $130.00 per couple. Cash or checks are acceptable. Checks should be made out to PRHS. Each ticket includes all entertainment, hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and the prom photography package.

Permission slips are due on the day that you purchase your prom ticket.
Enclosed you will find three (3) permission slips. 1. Junior Prom Regulation Permission Slip/Agreement: Must be submitted and signed by each junior attending the prom, their date/guest, and a parent/guardian of student and date/guest. 2. Early Dismissal Notes: Must be submitted to attendance by Wednesday, April 11th by any junior attending the prom who plans to leave school after the MANDATORY meeting Period 6 in the auditorium regarding prom on Friday, April 13th. Students planning to attend the prom MUST be in attendance periods 1 through 6 (minimum). 3. Junior Prom Decoration Committee Permission Slip: Must be submitted and signed if your child would like to be part of the decorating committee. Community service hours are available for this committee. In addition, students will pick their prom tables on the day that they buy their prom tickets and hand in their permission slips. Students MUST buy tickets, hand in permission slips and sign up for their tables with Ms. Schneider all on the same day. Thank you for your continued support in all of our activities! JUNIOR PROM 2018 CONTRACT & PERMISSION SLIP The Junior Prom will be held Friday April 13, 2018 from 7:00pm until 11:00pm in the High School Gymnasium. Students are expected to arrive no later than 7:30pm and must remain at the prom until the end at 11pm. After 7:30pm, we will make telephone calls to check on the status of any students scheduled to attend, but who have not yet arrived. If circumstances make it impossible for any student to arrive during the first half hour of the prom, parents are asked to call Ms. Schneider at 620-3842 to notify her in advance of the situation. No one will be admitted after 7:30pm unless there has been prior notification. Students will not be permitted to loiter in the parking lot during the evening or visit their cars to retrieve items under any circumstances. Alcoholic beverages, smoking and/or drugs are not permitted. The prom is a school function and school rules apply. Students or guests who arrive at the prom under the influence of alcohol or other controlled/illegal substances will not be allowed entrance and their parents will be notified. Parents and guardians should be aware that if a minor has consumed alcohol in a home and is involved in an accident after leaving that home, the parent or guardian is legally responsible and can be sued. Any violation of the above regulations, or any behavior that is not appropriate, will result in parental notification, expulsion from the prom, and disciplinary action from school authorities. Student attendance is required in school beginning Period 1 the day of the prom. There will be a mandatory Junior Class assembly that day beginning Period 6, in which attendance will be taken. Student cooperation will help make this an enjoyable and memorable evening for all.

The transformation from the gym to prom night is a very challenging task. Many hours of decorating are required. We will be working on the following days: Monday, April 9th (3:00-9:00 PM) Tuesday, April 10th (3:00 PM- 9:00 PM) Wednesday, April 11th (3:00 PM- 9:00 PM) Thursday, April 12th (3:00 PM- 9:00 PM) If your child would like to volunteer to help decorate the gym, a permission slip must be kept on file. Your child can do all or any of the above hours. NOTE: Students are expected to be in school on time each morning after decorating. All schoolwork must be completed.
