Pen Plant Tags Recycle your non-working pens and yogurt pots into a herb garden!

Materials non-working pen yogurt pot ruler scissors paper hole punch permanent marker

Collect and clean old plastic yogurt containers. Cut down one side and around the bottom, so that you have a flat piece of plastic to work with. Lay it on a flat surface. Cut out a rectangle that is 8 cm x 6 cm.

Punch holes in the centre near the top and in the bottom of the rectangle.

Use the permanent marker to write the name of the plant on the plastic.

Take the non-working pen and poke it through the top hole, from front to back, and then through the bottom hole, from back to front. You may need to use the pen to widen the hole a bit. Or you can punch another hole in the original hole to widen it.

Stick the plant marker, pen point side down, into the soil next to the plant. Repeat these steps to make as many plant markers as you wish.
