Step 1: For each of the 3 3/4" print blocks you will need (2) 1 3/4" white squares. Mark the wrong side of the small squares with a diagonal line. Stitch along the line using 1/4" seams. Trim the corners 1/4" from the stitching. Press.
Step 2: Mark each of the (12) 1 3/4" print blocks diagonally, stitch (1) print block on (12) of the white 3 3/4" blocks. Trim. Press.
Step 4: Sew each row of blocks together, and press seams. I like to press my seams in opposite directions. This way they nest together and make lining up the points much easier.
Step 5: Now let's sew the rows together! Match up the seams being careful that the wrapper ends line up with the candy, pin. Sew each row together. Press.
Once all the rows are together, you will end up with one long piece.
Step 6: Trim the panel. Line up your ruler along each side. Trim. You will want to keep a 1/4" seam allowance so the points don't get lost. Just like this!
Step 7: Finish the border. For the inside border, sew (1) 1 1/2" x 28" red border strip to each side. Press. And, (1) 1 1/2" x 11 1/4" strip to the top and bottom. Press.
Finish the outside border by sewing (1) 2 1/4" x 30" white border strip to each side. Press. And, (1) 2 1/4" x 14 1/2" to the top and the bottom. Press.
Baste. Quilt and sew on the binding! You can easily make this runner longer or wider! Add more candy blocks or make wider borders.
