arah Grant of Toronto, Ontario, had never considered becoming a stay-at-home mom… until her precious son was born. She was desperate for a “win-win” where she could stay home with her son but contribute to her family’s finances, when she discovered a business sharing and selling phenomenal products and a unique opportunity. After putting in many long hours working for a global consulting firm, I returned to school to complete my MBA, then started and ran my own (all-consuming) large fitness and wellness facility for five years. When my husband and I had our first child — our son, Grayson — everything changed. It came as a shock to both my husband and me that I wanted to stay home with our son. I had always been a Type A, workaholic and never considered staying home until he came into our lives, and then I couldn’t imagine being apart from him. My decision put considerable financial stress on our family and added stress for my husband as the sole income earner. It began to take a toll on our relationship, and I feared we wouldn’t be able to keep it together for another year.

Sarah Grant

Arbonne Independent Consultant, Executive Regional Vice President

I was looking for something that could solve my problem. Ideally, I needed something I could do part-time from home, with an eight-month-old baby in tow. I was looking for a win-win situation that would fit my knowledge, experience and skill set as a businessperson who is incredibly passionate about health and wellness. It all seemed like too much to hope for.

“I was absolutely convinced this business was going to explode, and I wanted in!” One day while I was getting a treatment from my massage therapist Cynthia Burrows, I explained my dilemma. Like a good Independent Consultant, she picked up on my need and realized how Arbonne could help. She invited me for coffee so I could learn about her new business.

I “got” Arbonne immediately. The business model made perfect sense to me and it sounded like the solution to my problem… but it also sounded too good to be true. I really wanted to try the RE9® line to find out if it really was as good as Cynthia said it was. I am a serious product consumer and have tried many high-end health and wellness and skincare lines. I felt I could only do this business if the products truly were amazing. After three days of using the products and a clear picture of how this business works, I was absolutely convinced this business was going to explode, and I wanted in! I was convinced that Arbonne had a brilliant business model with the BEST products, in the FASTEST growing product category, at the PERFECT time.

SUCCESS STRATEGY

“Follow the system, be coachable, commit to helping others and put consistent time into your business.”

People who knew me before Arbonne never thought of me as someone who would get involved with a network marketing company, “selling lipstick.” But no one ever expected me to have children, or to be a stay-at-home mom either. I turned this obstacle into an opportunity to communicate how incredible our products are, how brilliant this business is and that you don’t have to fit the profile or be a skincare expert to rock this business. You just have to be willing to follow a system, be coachable, commit to helping others succeed and put consistent time and effort into your business. The day before I scheduled my first launch on January 21, 2012, I found out I was pregnant with my second child! That meant the financial stress for my family was only going to grow — and fast! My Sponsor, EAM Cynthia Burrows, and upline, NVP Katherine O’Neil, helped guide me through monthly goal-setting and learning our upline’s system. With their guidance, encouragement and belief, I stayed focused on learning and stretching for bigger goals each month. I knew that if I just copied what my successful upline did, I would see success. I promoted to RVP on August 31, 2012, seven and a half months after my launch, and my second child, Sawyer, was born the very next day on September 1, 2012! Today, my Arbonne business has helped alleviate my family’s financial stress, and my husband and I are much more connected. We know where we’re going, and that we’re going there together. I know I will always be present in my children’s lives, and that is the most important thing to me. My decision to stay home no longer creates a burden on my family… I am the glue keeping us all together, and our champion for a happier, healthier family. I am incredibly grateful to my upline, who has blazed the trail and shared incredible insights on how to succeed. Huge thanks to NVP Katherine O’Neil for coaching and supporting me, and to my sponsor (the best cheerleader on the planet), Cynthia Burrows, for inviting me to join her business. Thanks to my own possibilitarian, ENVP Suzanne VanParys, for telling me, “You’re totally going to earn the car before you have that baby.” To my amazing team, who I love and would do just about anything for: I am grateful to you for jumping in with both feet and giving me this awesome opportunity to learn from you, to lead you, and to help you build the life you dream about. To my smart, supportive, incredibly hot husband, Greg Twinney, who works so hard for our family: Thank you for all you do for us. You have given up quality time with me to my Arbonne business in the short-term to secure our family’s future together. It hasn’t been easy, but I know that it’s worth it!
