Discontinue using your former account. Keep the account open until all outstanding payments have cleared and any automatic withdrawals have successfully been switched over, including your online bill payments. Switch your direct deposits. Make a list of the deposits you receive electronically, such as direct deposits from your employer, government programs or legal settlements. Use FORM 1 to advise the depositors that you have a new account. Switch your automatic payments and withdrawls. Make a list of payments that are automatically debited from your account, such as your mortgage, auto loan/lease, utilities, phone services and credit cards. Use FORM 2 to advise these payees that you have a new account.

After you enroll, sign up for bill pay. Make a list of the payees in your old bill pay service. Include name of payee, account number the payee has assigned to you and payee's mailing address. Enter this information into your new Mercantil Commercebank bill pay service. If you receive e-Bills from these payees, disable or discontinue e-Bill service from your former bill pay service. Sign up for e-Bills with these payees in your new Mercantil Commercebank bill pay service.

Close your former account. View the activity in your old checking account. Once all checks and online bill payments have cleared use FORM 3, and send it to your former bank to close the account. Use the Switch Kit Organizer. Use the Switch Online Banking Organizer. Use FORM 1, 2 or 3 provided to make the switch easy.
